As we get ever closer to the Circular Driven Economy Symposium 2018 we'd like to introduce our latest speaker, Mark Tomlinson. Mark is Business Development Manager with LafargeHolcim and will be joining Dr. Christian Engelsen to discuss the barriers to re-use.
During his talk, Mark will be focusing on the common barriers to re-use of recycled aggregates materials. With over 30 years experience in the materials industry, Mark brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the event. In his role with LafargeHolcim, Mark has overseen the successful expansion of their recycling operations, and we look forward to hearing Mark discuss his learnings from this experience.
LafargeHolcim is the leading global construction materials and solutions company producing a wide range of aggregate products for the construction sector. With urbanisation continuing to impact our environment, LafargeHolcim has set ambitious goals in providing more sustainable aggregate solutions with a clear commitment to social and environmental sustainability.
LafargeHolcim aims to reduce its dependency on natural resources and have become champions of the circular economy in recent times. The company has set ambitious targets to use 80 million tonnes per year of resources from waste materials by 2030, as well as achieving a 4-fold increase int he volume of recycled aggregates produced from construction and demolition waste and reclaimed asphalt paving.
LafargeHolcim currently uses 53 million tonnes per year of recycled aggregates in their operations and they will continue to increase this figure as they push to reach their 2030 targets. We look forward to hearing from Mark as he shares the LafargeHolcim story and their vision to be champions of the circular economy.
